The Canary Wharf Shooting Rumour.
This rumour is still going around, even though the police catagorically denied it a week ago.
The main elements:
The police shot one or two suicide bombers on thursday at 10.30am
It took place at Canary wharf, but the precise location varies
It was witnessed 'by a friend' - never by the person telling the story
It has been covered up - we are not supposed to know about it.
The best coverage I've found is in The Wharf - the weekly CW paper
Google News has 6 reports, including this one in the New Zealand Herald
The thing is that it's hard to disprove. Other rumours, like the explosion in Leicester Square, and the one at Marble Arch can be easily dispelled - but this one looks like staying around for longer.

The Most Exclusive Restaurant in the World
This could be the world's most exclusive restaurant. A single table atop the northeast chimney of Battersea power station will afford some of the most stunning views of London - and the absence of other diners means that there will be no competition for the attention of the head waiter.
